Well that was a quick trip. Actually I'm back in the departure lounge. Something wrong with the 'plane. The pilot says it's the air conditioning but I think they say that to stop everyone panicking. If it's just the air-con how come we have to get on a different 'plane?? Probably an engine fallen off.
Actually I'm quite glad as I think I just broke the inflight entertainment system in my seat. I just wanted to read the news but ended up with a blue screen of death, or at least the never ending 'loading' symbol.
It's at time like this I'm glad I don't really have any plans to follow, if I'm late it makes no difference. All the poor buggers around me who have connections in Seoul are getting really pissed off. At least I think they are as they are speaking Korean very angrily, it's like being in a bad kung-fu movie.
So now I have a bit longer to stare at the new terminal's carpet. Why is it that airports all have such hideous carpet? There must be a colour blind designer with vertigo who's employed by every airport in the world(and Vegas casino as now I come to think about it they have pretty hideous axminster too) to 'design' their floor coverings. Apart from that I can report that the new terminal 3 at Changi is very nice, I just didn't realise I'd be spending so much time in it. Trouble is I can't get back to the trendy bits as we are quarantined at the departure gate (security you know). So I don't get chance to go and have a look at all the eating places or all the shops. Most of which seem to be of the "luxury" persuasion. There is Hermés, Patek Phillipe, Cartier, Dunhill etc. etc. Do people really come the airport and then spend $5,000 on a watch and stock up on couture clothes? I just want to buy some cheap booze and duty free gadgetry.
Actually at the moment I just want to get going.
